Text: Deuteronomy 1:19-40 (Numbers 13;
14)
Introduction:
kasalanan!
(God
has deliver us from the bondage of sin.)(Deuteronomy
5:15
And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that
the
LORD
thy
God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched
out arm: therefore the LORD
thy
God commanded thee to keep the sabbath
day.)
Inilabas
(Hebrew 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as
the manner of some is;
but
exhorting one
another: and
so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.)
(B) (God has lead us
also.)
Araw-araw
kasama nila ang Panginoong Diyos
(Deut. 8:2
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD
thy
God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and
to
prove thee, to know what was
in
thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.)
(C) It's always nice to
rehearse God's faithfulness,
specially in times of discouragements.
“discouragements”.(Joshua 23:14 And,
behold, this day I am
going
the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all
your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things
which the LORD
your
God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and
not
one thing hath failed thereof.
Don't
forget the goodness and faithfulness of God Never
forget what God hath done for us.
Let's
learn from the Israelite's, the belief and the unbelief how affects
the promise of God.(Numbers
13:17-33,
14:1-~
Bayan.~
(vv. 25-29) Ang Masamang Balita ng 10 Tiktik.~
(vv. 30) Ang pagsalungat ni Caleb at pagiging positibo at pagtitiwala
sa Panginoon.~
(vv. 31-33)
APPLICATION:I.
Nakinig
sila sa mga Maling Tinig (They
Listen to the Wrong voices)Bantayan
Guard
ourselves persuade (madala/matangay)
by
the voices of people in wrong faith.(1).
Mga
Tinig ng walang-Pasasalamat o Hindi marunong Magpasalamat (Voices
of ingratitude); (the
devil), Isang
Di-marunong
magpasalamat>
> The devil has always whisper! Manipulates us! God doesn't like
us to listen to the voice of ingratitude; ungrateful (unthankful)
(unappreciative)! Paano
kalangitan?!Sino
(2).
Voices of Skepticism
(Mapag-alinlangan)= voice of malice.
“the
LORD hates us” - the Devil wants us to deny God's faithfulness.
(Some of us are playing gods in their life)
relativism
: there are no absolutes; no exact truth subjectivism;
“I RESPECT YOU, YOU RESPECT” pragmatism:
(no truth) does not fit right in our mentality
(3).
The wrong Voice of Self-Centerdess
(Makasarili)
Tayo
(God
has redeemed and formed us for HIS purpose. )
Proverbs
28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh
wisely, he shall be delivered.Commentary:1.
The character of a fool:He
trusts to his own heart, to
his own wisdom and counsels, his own strength and sufficiency, his
own merit and righteousness, and the good opinion he has of himself;
he that does so is
a fool, for
he trusts to that, not only which is
deceitful (dishonest)
above all things (Jer.
xvii. 9),
but which has often deceived him. This
implies that it is the character of a wise man (as before, v.25)
to put
his trust in the Lord,and
in his power and promise, and to follow his guidance,Prov.
iii. 5, 6.
2.
The comfort of a wise man: He that walks
wisely that
trusts not to his own heart, but is humble and self-diffident, and
goes on in the strength of the Lord God he
shall be delivered ;when
the fool, that
trusts in his own heart shall
be destroyed“He
that goeth with wise men shall be wise, but the companion of fools
shall be destroy”
Jeremiah
4: 22 For my people is
foolish,
they have not known me; they are
sottish
(intoxicated)
children,
and they have none understanding: they
are
wise
to do evil,
but to do good they have no knowledge.
They
are very sinful and will not be reformed, v.
22.
These
are the words of God himself, for so the prophet chose to give this
character of the people, rather than in his own words, or as from
himself: My
people are foolish.
God
calls them his people, though they are foolish.
They
have cast him off, but he has not cast them off, Romans
11:1
I
say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an
Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of
the
tribe of Benjamin.
"They
are my
people, whom
I have been in covenant with, and still have mercy in store for. They
are foolish,
for
they
have not known me."
Note,Those
are foolish indeed that have not known God, especially that call
themselves his people, and have the advantages of coming into
acquaintance with him, and yet have not known him. They are sottish
(lasing/lango)children,
stupid
and senseless, and have no
understanding.
They
cannot distinguish (separate)
between truth and falsehood, good and evil;
they cannot discern the mind of God either in his word or in his
providence; they do not understand what their true interest is, nor
on which side it lies.
They
are wise
to do evil, to
plot mischief against the quiet in the land, wise to contrive the
gratification of their lusts, and then to conceal and palliate them.
But
to
do good they have no knowledge, no
contrivance, no application of mind; they know not how to make a
good use either of the ordinances or of the providences of God, nor
how to bring about any design for the good of their country.
Contrary to this should be our character. Rom.
Xvi. 19,
I
would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning
evil.
You
will not reach the Promise land of your Ministry if you will listen
to the wrong voice!!
II.
They Rely on the Perspective (Pananaw)
=
(voice of the people, discouraging; opposition)
Hindi
lamang “internal voices” from satan, ang kanilang pinakinggan
tinig. “
Hindi
natin kayang akyatin, napakataas! ng pader.” (Numbers
13:31)umaasa
sa sariling kakayahan at lakas.
Human
oppose the spreading of the Gospel,,,,Many
times we rely on human perspective, do not! Rely on human
perspective.These
kind
of people
are doubters, negative people!Human
perspective will lead to :
opposition;competition;division.Hosea
4:6 refers to “lack of vision”let
us not rely on human perspective = the result, DISCOURAGEMENT!
III.
They Let Their Feelings Overcome their Faith (v.29-30)
“dread not”They
rely on what they feel!
29
-
Then
I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.
30-
The
LORD your
God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all
that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;
pananampalataya. Dapat, laging angat ang ating pananampalataya sa
ating Panginoong Jesu-Cristo, ating Diyos at sariling tagapagligtas.
Araw
kaluob, tugon agad! At wag ng magreklamo o mangatwiran pa
